Langerry Good-bye Braai

Shannon, Sarah, and Toby
On Friday night (May 18th), the students paid for and prepared a braai as thanks to the staff of Langerry Holiday Flats where we have made our home for the last four months.  The students will be busy with finals all this next week, and then start flying away the 25th.

Some of the women who clean our flats
ride three combis just to get to work each day
Isaac, Andrew, and Chris were on the lead, and they prepared a feast for all.  The braai-masters made three different  meats: pork loin, chicken, and boerworst, baked potatoes with all the toppings, fruit salad, lettuce salad, and desserts.   It was a wet and chilly night, but that didn't keep the smiles off people's faces.

Langerry is owned by Stevie, pictured here.  And, it says something about him and the others who manage Langerry, that most of the staff have worked here for over twenty years.

The courtyard was full!

Joe looks quite shocked by
Margaret's plate!  (It was for Rassie)
Innes surprised me with a poster
Earlier, we treated Joyce to lunch
She cleans the flats of all us pictured seven days a week!
I was surprised with a beautiful poster entitled "Connie's Residence" at the top.  The office staff kid me because they have gotten telephone calls once or twice that have enquired, "Is this Connie's residence?"  After being taken aback a moment, they have sweetly answered, "Yes, this is Connie's residence.  Let me get her for you."   What service!
