Cruising Down the River

On the river...
On Sunday (appropriately enough), we all enjoyed a cruise on the Sunday's River Ferry.  We clamored aboard the double-decker pontoon boat and set off toward the mouth of the Sunday's River.

After a  45-minute ride, we beached at the Alexandria/Colchester dune fields.  According to the captain, the Alexandria sand dunes stretch 75 kilometers along the Eastern Cape coastline and comprise the largest sand dune area in the southern hemisphere.

The dunes are not so much fun to walk on...
Once again, I didn't climb the dunes, but most everyone else did.

This time they had sand boards along.  More like sleds than snowboards, they had fun sliding and spinning on them.  They also brought most of the 75 kilometers of sand back on board on their skin, hair, and clothes!
... but imagine sledding down this hill!
